Photo Editing?

I just realized I don't have photoshop anymore. This is bad. I'm too cheap to go out and spend $200 dollars on it, so does anyone have any suggestions for good free photo editing programs? The best I can think of is The Gimp, but that program secretly wants me to fail at life, so I'm looking for alternatives.
